Music & Mood

I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. It seems to infuse strength into my limbs and ideas into my brain. Life seems to go on without effort, when I am filled with music.” George Eliot

Think about any scary movie that you have ever seen. Consider the most frightening part of that movie and everything about that extremely terrifying scene. Now consider this what would happen if you removed the music that is playing during the chilling sequence. What happens to the movie? Suddenly it becomes far less frightening. The dramatic music creates the mood of fear. view article

Sita Sings the Blues (2008) – Nina Paley

Sita Sings the BluesSita is a goddess separated from her beloved Lord and husband Rama. Nina is an animator whose husband moves to India, then dumps her by email. Three hilarious shadow puppets narrate both ancient tragedy and modern comedy in this beautifully animated interpretation of the Indian epic Ramayana. Set to the 1920′s jazz vocals of Annette Hanshaw, Sita Sings the Blues earns its tagline as “the Greatest Break-Up Story Ever Told.”
